How to Play This Deck
A deep dive into the win conditions, game phases, and key matchup insights.
The Core Engine
This deck revolves around one explosive combo: Joltik's "Jolting Charge" for energy acceleration to power up Pikachu ex to attack fast.
Joltik is the setup engine. As early as Turn 1 (going second), Joltik can use its attack to search your deck for up to 2 Basic Grass Energy + up to 2 Basic Lightning Energy and attach all 4 to your Pokémon in any way you like. This massive acceleration 4 Energy to start your turn is what enables Pikachu ex to launch devastating attacks far ahead of the normal energy curve.
Primary Win Condition
Pikachu ex is your primary attacker, leveraging that early Energy advantage to deal massive damage. Its Resolute Heart ability provides a game-winning safety net: when at full HP, if Pikachu ex would be Knocked Out by an attack, it survives with 10 HP remaining instead. This lets you attack aggressively without fear, knowing you have a second chance.
The secondary win condition is Galvantula ex (evolved from Joltik), which deals 220 damage against ex/V Pokémon with its Charged Web attack. Its Tera ability prevents all attack damage while on Bench, making it a protected backup attacker.
7 Winning Combos
The exact card combinations and sequences that win games. Learn these cold before you play.
Search for Precious Trolley (your ACE SPEC Item card) and Air Balloon (your only Tool card). Use Precious Trolley to search for any number of Basic Pokémon and put them all on your Bench simultaneously. Setup board as close to the following: Active: 1x Joltik Bench: 1x Joltik, 3x Pikachu ex, 1 Tynamo. When attacking use Joltik's "Jolting Charge" to attach 1 Grass + 1 Lightning Energy to 2 of your Pikachu ex.
Then use Levincia Stadium's effect to put up to 2 Basic Lightning Energy from your discard pile into your hand. Finally, manually attach 1 Energy from your hand to the Pokémon of choice (your one attachment per turn). At the end of this sequence, you've attached 2 Energy (1 manual, 1 via Dynamotor) and still have 2 Energy in hand for the following turn.
Speed up Energy attachment with Electric Generator, look at the top 5 cards attach up to 2 Lightning Energy to Benched Lightning Pokémon. Once Galvantula ex is fully powered, you promote it to Active and attack with Charged Web, which deals 110 base damage plus an additional 110 damage if the opponent's Active Pokémon is a Pokémon ex or V—totaling 220 damage. Giving you time to recharge available Pikachu ex.
Advanced applications of Energy Switch become apparent in emergency situations. If your opponent plays Boss's Orders to drag up an unprepared Benched Pokémon that has no Energy attached, you can respond by playing Energy Switch to attack or retreat.
Finally, use Eelektrik's Dynamotor Ability to attach 1 Basic Lightning Energy from discard to a Benched Pokémon. This three-card sequence accelerates 4 Energy in a single turn: 1 from Crispin (manual), 2 from Electric Generator, and 1 from Dynamotor. If you need to power up a Benched Pikachu ex from zero Energy to fully loaded in one turn, the order is Electric Generator → Crispin → Eelektrik.
This transforms Ultra Ball from a simple search card into a three-way combo: you get the Pokémon you searched for, you fuel Dynamotor with Energy in the discard pile, and you set up Levincia's recovery. The advanced play is discarding Lightning Energy even when you have other cards in hand you could discard, because feeding the discard pile accelerates your energy loop.
When you're ready to take Prize cards, play Boss's Orders to drag that target from the Bench to the Active position, then attack with Galvantula ex's 220-damage Charged Web or Pikachu ex's powered-up attack to Knock it Out instantly. This combo is particularly devastating in late-game Prize race scenarios, if you need exactly 2 Prize cards to win, pull up a damaged ex/V hiding on their Bench and finish it in one hit. The key skill is maintaining "Bench awareness" throughout the entire game, constantly evaluating which Pokémon are vulnerable and planning your Boss's Orders timing several turns in advance.
